Several Large Handset Vendors and Telecoms to Set Up Linux Platform

NTT DoCoMo, Motorola, NEC, Vodafone, Samsung, and Matsushita announced on June 15 that they will form an alliance to develop an open, Linux-based platform for mobile phones by the end of 2006. They also stated that they will invite more participants from the semiconductor and mobile phone sectors.
